As you may have seen in my last few emails, I recently relaunched my nutrition membership site, The Functional Nutrition Library.

It houses a bunch of notes that I’ve curated over the years, with up-to-date nutrition information and recommendations for various health conditions, nutrition labs, and special diets.

It also includes an incredible database of 700+ few-ingredient food products to recommend to people following elimination diets or with special dietary needs.

I know at first glance, it may seem like this type of resource is only helpful for dietitians in private practice…

… but there are actually quite a few exciting ways “unconventional” nutrition professionals have used The FNL.

So, I thought I’d share them with you today!

#1) Freelance writers

The FNL can save you so much time if you write about nutrition online.

We all know that snappy stats and current research citations can take your writing from ho-hum to fantastic. But it’s so easy to fall into a PubMed rabbit hole digging up this type of content.

Instead, you can quickly find stats and primary sources directly within The FNL, which is clearly organized by subject (health condition, nutrient, food, lab, special diet, etc.).

We also include quick summaries of the official published nutrition guidelines from various health associations, so you don’t have to look them up individually whenever you want to reference something.

#2) Bloggers

Building backlinks and getting media mentions are a big part of the blogging game.

But ugh, I know it can take forever to respond to media inquiries, especially when you have to dig up information on your own.

By using The FNL, you can quickly look for information that answers media queries in your niche, rephrase it in your own words, and have a good shot at getting a new backlink or mention without spending a ton of time on your responses.

#3) Content creators

If you create content online, you know that keeping up with the latest research and trends is a BIG job.

Let The FNL carry some of the load for you. Every other week, we release new content around the topics you tell us you want the most.

Then, if you want to create content around that topic for your own business, you don’t have to start digging up all the latest information from scratch. Just read our notes!

#4) Digital educators

If you create digital courses or run group programs or memberships, you’ve probably had someone ask a question that is slightly outside your core area of expertise.

When this happens, you can log into The FNL, find our note on that topic, and point that person in the right direction to answer their question. Great time saver!

#5) Alternative income streams

If you do affiliate marketing or work with brands, you’ll love our database of over 700 few-ingredient products.

It’s a great place to find new products to recommend with an affiliate link (so you can earn commissions if people in your audience buy) or brands to pitch for partnership opportunities.

So, even if you don’t work directly with patients/clients, you’ll still find The Functional Nutrition Library incredibly valuable!

If you’re interested in joining The Functional Nutrition Library, I’m excited to announce that enrollment is now OPEN.

Hope to see ya inside the membership!

(And don’t be shy. If there’s a topic you want to see a note on, let me know, and I’ll add it to the ideas list!)

Best,
Erica
